About the Artist

Growing up in a banker's family, I lived in several cities in Southern Ontario. As we travelled to Northern Ontario on family vacations, I realized that there were people lucky enough to live there, staying even as we had to return home. When I finished my education I lost no time in moving north.

I've always been interested in creating art. From my childhood drawings and plasticene sculptures to the present I've continually worked and learned about the images I create.

Although I have had many influences (anyone who studies art history must), my immediate influences are the Canadian printmakers Silverberg and Blackwood.

Life as an artist is a continual balancing of creative inspiration, physical work on images, framing, and marketing.

In moments between working and creating, I've enjoyed designing and building a house on the north shore of Lake Huron. Occasionally, I even have the time to take advantage of all the natural beauty that our location provides.
